Getting started
New to SignalMarkets? Learn the basics of the platform and how to get started.
What is SignalMarkets?
SignalMarkets offers eligible U.S. users access to event contracts, which are contracts whose value depends on the outcome of a real-world event. The contracts are listed on a CFTC-registered exchange and are accessed through SignalMarkets' guaranteeing futures commission merchant (FCM), Foris DAX FCM, LLC d/b/a OG.com Broker.
SignalMarkets is a guaranteed introducing broker. It introduces customers to OG.com Broker, which carries customer accounts and holds customer funds. The exchange, North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. d/b/a OG.com Markets, matches, clears, and settles trades. SignalMarkets does not hold customer funds.
What are prediction markets?
Prediction markets let people trade on the outcome of future events. For example, a contract that pays $1 if an event occurs and pays $0 if it does not, trades at a price between $0 and $1. That price reflects what traders are currently willing to pay, which can indicate what the market collectively expects to happen.

Markets and outcomes
Understand how event markets work, how prices relate to probabilities, and how market outcomes are determined.
How do SignalMarkets event contracts work?
An event contract asks a Yes/No question about a future event. Its price is between $0 and $1, and it pays $1 to the winning side and $0 to the other, as set out in each contract's specification.
Example (for illustrative purposes only; excludes fees): You buy one "Yes" contract at $0.60. If the event occurs, you receive $1, a profit of $0.40. If it does not, you receive $0, a loss of $0.60.
All positions are fully collateralized: you pay the full contract price up front. Margin and leverage are not available.
What does a market price mean?
The price is what traders are currently willing to pay for a given outcome, based on the most recent matched orders and the bids and offers in the order book.
What markets are available on SignalMarkets?
